Upcoming Meetings

Wednesday

New Horizons Computer Learning Center, 50 Methodist Hill, Henrietta, NY

Steve Maier, Principal Software Engineer at Infimed, will present:
Using Kinect in Windows Apps

With the changing human interaction of newer technology such as the Surface or the Kinect, the old interfaces are changing. Microsoft is releasing a Windows version of the Kinect for desktop usage on Feb 1st.  Microsoft has a beta SDK to talk to the Kinect using Winforms and WPF apps. In this meeting, this SDK will be discussed and demos for using the camera, depth sensor, skeleton detection, and audio support will be shown.

Steve Maier is a Principal Software Engineer at Infimed and leading the team for their next generation product.  He holds multiple .NET and SQL Server certifications and co-authored a SQL Server book.  He has also used DirectX and Direct3D for multiple medical applications as well as game engines.

Future Presentations
I would like to find out what type of presentations the group would like to see in the coming months and, hopefully, get some volunteers to prepare and present them.

Please email Bob Nims Bob Nims to suggest a topic for a presentation that you could give at a future meeting.

Previous meetings summaries are here.
