VDUNY Membership
How do I join? There are no dues to pay. We are each responsible for keeping this grassroots organization in operation through participating at the level and frequency that are practical for you.
Step 1: If you would like to be added to the e-mailing list, review the email protocol and sign up!
Step 2: To be a member of VDUNY, instead of writing a check, you need to select one or more actions from this list that appeal to you, put it on your calendar, and do it:
- attend regular meetings when I can and network with others and enjoy the meeting
- become a meeting coordinator for part of a year
- take an action item that needs to be done
- tell other people about VDUNY
- order and pick up the pizza one month, and collect $ if we are splitting the cost
- bring soft drinks, plates, napkins and cups to a meeting, and collect $ if we are splitting the cost
- help update and add cool stuff to the website, e.g., in the links section.
- help keep the members informed
- suggest a speaker
- be a speaker on a topic/technique you know well
- help plan the direction of the group, such as what topics, when/where/how often to have meetings
- give your feedback and ideas to people who are planning the upcoming meetings
- organize fund-raising if we want to do something that costs more money
- whatever else I think the group could benefit from
Did you put something on your calendar? If you're inspired to doing something like buy the pizza, or suggest a speaker, check in with our current meeting organizer Bob Nims.
